jester’s pose suggests an unusual moment of calm
reflection or sad introspection. The fool, the clown, the
jester are the same powerful archetype. The number
one card in Tarot Decks is The Fool, and even standard
playing cards include The Joker, who sits aside as a
witness to our folly. We all play this role. For some
it’s a conscious effort to amuse and entertain, for
others it is a cast shadow they might not see. When
we acknowledge our foolish parts and actions, we are
empowered by seeing our human condition in the
light of “infinite jest”.
